Owner FAQs

How does insurance work for owners?

You just need to confirm you have personal coverage for state minimum liability, but when it is rented with TripCity, our policy will cover the vehicle for the duration of the rental. When a renter books your car, our system will automatically generate an insurance card in the renter's name. This card will be available for them to download from their dashboard and upload to any rideshare platform they work with.

What are the coverage details?

TripCity’s policy covers state minimums required for physical and property and up to $1M in liability. The deductible is $2,500.

How do I start listing my vehicles?

Head to tripcity.com, create an owner account, and complete your profile. You will need to connect your bank account for payouts, then you will be able to list all your vehicles.

You select your rental minimums, price, and mileage limit. Upload your photos and documents and your vehicle will be approved within minutes.

Are renters screened?

Yes, we use Argyle to verify an approved rideshare account in order for them to complete their profile to rent a vehicle.

What are the fees?

We charge a 5% platform fee. Keep 95% of your earnings.

There are no hidden or additional transaction fees.

Are incidentals covered? What about tolls?

We do not guarantee incidentals, but those are passed along to the renter and we assist with recovering those funds. This is to ensure we can keep the platform fee as low as possible.

We have partnered with FleetIT who works with automating tolls directly to your dashboard. These are charged directly to the renter so you have full visibility and can avoid paperwork and late fees.

What states do you operate in?

Currently: AZ, CA, CT, DC, FL, GA, IL, IN, MD, NV, NJ, PA, TX, VA, WA.

We are quickly expanding into new states in the coming weeks so stay tuned for updates!

What are the vehicle requirements?

The vehicle needs to be eligible for Uber, valued at $5,000 or more.

How do payouts work?

We process payouts every Monday for the previous week’s rental days directly to the bank account you have connected with Stripe in your profile.
